Naval Tampa uses only Marine Alloys in all flanges

When stainless steel bolts and aluminum threads come in contact as "dis-similiar metals" a natural current flow occurrs between the two metals and corrosion is the result. Naval Tampa uses a propritary chemical to separate the two metals (bolts in flanges) This chemical looks like a grease but will not wash away and is not affected by detergents or hot water. We ran it through 10 cycles in a dishwasher with strong detergent and steaming water and it was still complete after the ordeal. If this chemical is not used, the stainless bolts will soon lock up inside the aluminum flange and will become impossible to remove.
